Does Air de Lilas Smell Like Actual Lilacs?

Not exactly—and that's intentional.

Because Air de Lilas is crafted exclusively with organic essential oils and contains no synthetic fragrances, it does not smell exactly like a lilac flower. Most lilac fragrances rely on synthetic fragrance ingredients to recreate the scent because true lilac essential oil is not commercially produced through traditional steam distillation.

Instead, Air de Lilas is our natural interpretation of Lilac Air—the feeling of standing among blooming spring flowers on a warm, breezy day. The blend of bergamot, neroli, ylang-ylang, and cedarwood creates a soft floral aroma that some people may associate with lilacs, hyacinths, or other spring blossoms.

Fragrance is deeply personal, and everyone experiences scent differently. Rather than recreating the exact scent of lilacs, our goal was to capture the atmosphere of spring itself: fresh air, blooming flowers, and nature coming back to life. That's why we call it Air de Lilas—not the scent of a lilac flower, but the feeling of lilac season.
